40mm Isotherm Insulation
The 40mm Isotherm is the thinnest option in the Isotherm ceiling insulation range. Manufactured from recycled PET plastic bottles, it has a soft, non-irritant texture that makes it safe and comfortable to work with.
With a product R-value of 0.63 m²·K/W and an installed R-value of 1.03 m²·K/W, it is not intended to meet minimum insulation requirements on its own. Instead, it’s most commonly used for topping up existing insulation in small areas, for specialized applications where space is limited, or for temporary installations where a light thermal barrier is needed.
SABS Certification Status
Isotherm insulation is no longer SABS-approved, having failed to meet the updated South African Bureau of Standards testing requirements.
For projects where SABS certification is mandatory — such as government tenders, schools, or hospitals — alternatives like Knauf or Aerolite, which still carry full SABS approval, are recommended.
